Thanks for those fantastic tips. I will give them a try and see if something sinks in. Most days I race through reading my bible and not surprisingly I don’t remember much of it throughout the day.

    1. You’re welcome. Yes, remember…reading the Bible isn’t a race to the finish line. 🙂

Rosilind, thank you so much for this powerful guidance towards me feeding my soul. I have always been reluctant about getting back to reading the word simply because I never truly knew how. God placed your insight along my pathway today. I have a foundation that I can finally use to help guide me on my journey towards enlightenment. I am excited to what I am about to embark on. Thanks to you I can do it one bite at a time and not rush the process. I love you my sister in Christ and I don’t even know you. Be blessed, safe, and encouraged.

  3. I think you give some wonderful advice here, Rosilind! I used to “sprint” my way through the Bible, mostly because I thought that was the way good Christians were SUPPOSED to do it! But I’ve found such joy in working my way through God’s word slowly and deliberately. I’ve always marked in my Bibles, but I started a journaling Bible this year, too, and I have LOVED the extra room for notes and drawings. I think it helps me apply the scripture to myself better and impresses things upon my memory better, too!

I know many lifetime Christians who have never really developed a habit of spending time in God’s word, but I think posts like yours help people know how to approach it and make it an important part of their daily lives. Awesome post. I’m sharing!

    1. Thank you so much for your encouragement, Tanya. Like you I used to sprint my way through the Word, too….but I’ll never forget when it hit me that it’s quality over quantity…we can intellectually know the Word, but if it never really changes us, what’s the point?
