Learning to live life through a prism of thankfulness and gratefulness is a discipline that helps keep our hearts free from the trap of entitlement and ungratefulness that leads to bitterness, selfishness, and pride.
Paul didn’t say, “For everything give thanks…,” but “In everything give thanks…”
In other words, just because you’re facing a trial or, as my dad terms, “waves of adversity,” doesn’t mean you stop finding reasons to live thankfully.

This doesn’t sound very hard until you’re faced with a huge financial setback, a child who is very ill and in the hospital, marriage trouble, or a health crisis.
Suddenly, our mind is gripped with worry and anxiety. Frustration overtakes us and plants seeds of doubt in our minds and we begin questioning God.
Why me?
We start to second-guess ourselves, wondering if we somehow stepped out of God’s will. We begin to think that if we were truly in the will of God that these bad things wouldn’t happen to us.
Scripture is filled with commands for us to give thanks!
As I have prepared for these prayer challenges, I have found exciting scriptures to target specific areas of our Christian walk.
30 Day Prayer Challenge for Thanksgiving
In this 30-Day Prayer Challenge for Thanksgiving, you will find a Bible verse or passage for each day that will teach you about faith and inspire you to begin discovering a new ability to walk in great faith.
To use this workbook, you will read the given verse or passage from the day and write out an observation about that verse or passage.
Then you will write out a prayer to the Lord, using the verse or passage for that day as a guide.
Using God’s Word as a guide for our prayers is such a powerful tool.
It is also a powerful weapon, combining the sword of the Spirit and the weapon of prayer into one atomic weapon against the enemy who seeks to destroy us.
