Do you have a wrong concept of freedom?
Many people believe that freedom is the ability to do whatever we want.
I believe we’re living the consequences of that misconception, as everyone is doing “what is right in their own eyes”.
In some places, the law even grants people the freedom to break the law with little-to-no consequences…
putting citizens in danger and harming their livelihoods.
True freedom is the ability to say no to those things that offend God.
It is the state in which we are bound by nothing by our relationship with Christ.
I have the liberty to say no to sin.
I have the liberty to say no to temptation.
I have the liberty to limit myself in those grey areas in which I feel freedom but others have opposing convictions.
Paul talks about this kind of liberty and freedom in the book of Galatians.
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Galatians 5:16
When we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, we are free from the bondage to fulfill fleshly desires.
Temptation may come, but we are not bound to it.
We have liberty in Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit to say no and turn from it.
July 23rd, I am releasing my newest book Walk Free in Christ!
Walk Free in Christ is a small 7-chapter book that takes you through the entire book of Galatians, examining Paul’s argument for what it means to live free in Christ.
We see that freedom isn’t the liberty to do what we want, but the ability to say no to the things that do not please Christ…
so that we can say YES to the things that do!

Today I want to share with you 10 Bible verses for Freedom in Christ
Paul, in particular, has a lot to say about living free in Christ.
You see, Christ did not set us free from sin only for us to live in bondage to constant desires that try to pull us back.
Yes, we will be tempted. That is our human nature.
But when we study Scripture, we see that God has given us the power of the Holy Spirit to live free from the bondage to sin.
We are given power to live free – and free indeed!
THIS is the life we’re meant to live.
1. 2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
2. Galatians 5:1
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
3. Romans 8:1-2
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
4. 1 Corinthians 6:12
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
5. Galatians 5:13
For you, brethren, have been called to liberty; only do not use liberty as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another.
6. Romans 6:22
But now having been set free from sin, and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness, and the end, everlasting life.
7. John 8:32
And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
8. Psalm 119:45
And I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your precepts.
9. John 8:36
Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.
10. James 1:25
But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.
