Have you ever asked yourself, “Why did God really send the flood?”

I grew up hearing that God sent the flood because people had grown so wicked, that God had to destroy everything and start over.

But, what level of “wicked” did they reach for God to do something so radical?

In the New Testament we read “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of man be.” Matthew 24:37

It makes you wonder: How much more wicked can our generation be to reach this point?

Haven’t we reached – maybe even surpassed – the level of “wicked” they did in the days of Noah?

When an adult can’t take hydroxychloroquine for COVID in 2021, but in 2023 a minor can irreversibly mutilate their body without their parent’s consent, it makes you wonder.

Are we living in the days of Noah?

Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

Genesis 6:5

I do not believe the Bible speaks in hyperbole. So, when it says that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually, I have to believe that this is literally how it was.

Man was so evil and corrupt, he was incapable of having righteous thoughts.

Sounds a lot like today, doesn’t it?

And yet, there was a greater reason why God sent the flood; and we see the clue to that in Genesis 6:4 and 9

There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of God came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown. Noah was a just man, perfect in his generations. Noah walked with God.

Noah was perfect in his generations. Later on in verse 11 it says, “So God looked upon the earth, an indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on earth.” (emphasis mine)

Because the “sons of God” had procreated with the daughters of men, the human DNA had become corrupted.

From that came the giants – the Hebrew word Nephalim. Trans-humans.

But it says that Noah was perfect in his generations – meaning, his DNA had not been defiled and corrupted.

Out of all of the men on earth, Noah and his family were the only righteous ones who had protected themselves from this level of corruption in their culture.

So we come back to the question: Are we living in the days of Noah?

Looking at our culture today, it is hard to imagine it otherwise.

Corruption and distortion has so saturated our culture today that we can say with the Prophet Isaiah:

Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil;
Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness;
Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes,
And prudent in their own sight!

Woe to men mighty at drinking wine,
Woe to men valiant for mixing intoxicating drink,

Who justify the wicked for a bribe,
And take away justice from the righteous man!

Isaiah 5:20-23

Technology is advancing at warp speed, and it seems that with it seems to advance the evil imaginations of man.

Gender reassignment surgery and hormone therapy for minors seemed unthinkable only 4-5 years ago, but in some states today parents can lose custody of their children for not allowing them these services.

In some states, you cannot foster children without agreeing to help the foster child transition if they so choose.

But things are now going a step further that point even more closely to the days of Noah.

On May 23, 2023, world experts gathered in Boulder, Co to discuss the possibilities and ethics of using CRISPER technology – otherwise known as therapeutic gene editing.

And it’s already begun. In the article it says:

Roughly 250 people have been treated with this CRISPR technology, and Doudna said she’s expecting 20,000 people to have been treated with it in the next 10 years.

Worldwide experts come to CU Boulder to discuss CRISPR-Cas9 ethics, future of gene editing

Altering the gene pool of mankind.

Of course, this is being presented as a way to eradicate genetic diseases or to spread infertility among pests, such as mosquitoes.

Sin never presents itself as ugly, corrupt, or defiled.

It always comes packaged as noble and for the betterment of mankind.

Dear sisters, Noah did not remain perfect or righteous in his generations at the moment when he saw the sons of God procreating with the daughters of men.

His decision was made long before that, to walk righteously before His God.

As our culture is rapidly descending into deeper corruption and sin, we have to allow God to uncover any area of our life where we are allowing darkness to dwell.

We cannot walk righteously before God while simultaneously allowing darkness to dwell in our hearts.

The answer to the question today is yes. Yes, we are living in the days of Noah.

All of the signs Jesus gave to us to determine the closeness of His return have taken place, and it is only a matter of time until that blessed day when His church will be raptured.

The question is: Are you ready for that day? Are you living ready each and every day?

If not, start today.

Put your phone down, turn your computer and TV off, get on your knees, and stay there until the fire of God so consumes your heart that it burns away all love of anything other than Him.

Repent of your idolatry.

Repent of your love of this world and all of it’s toys and entertainment.

Repent of the darkness you have allowed to creep in, taking over the light that was once there.

Sisters, the time is short. No, we don’t know the day nor hour when the coming of Son of Man will be.

But looking at all of the signs Jesus has given us, we can see that it could be any moment now.

Be sure you are ready!
