The Bible says that children are God’s inheritance to us.
Just think about that for a moment. What has society fed us the past few generations? Children are bothersome, expensive, and tiresome. Have 2, 3 if you must, any more than that and you’re getting ridiculous.
People with families nearing a dozen are circus freak-shows paraded around TV like they’re some oddity or something.
They are not odd and they are not a freak-show. They are people who understand what most people fail to grasp.
God has chosen to give us His inheritance in the form of children. Sadly, even Christians have chosen to view God’s inheritance with skepticism and even a little bit of disdain because it didn’t come in the form they thought it should.
But that is because we don’t understand Kingdom Currency. Kingdom currency is the only thing we can take to heaven with us: souls.
And while we need to evangelize the lost and make disciples of all nations, a mother’s first and foremost ministry is caring for the inheritance God has given her.
I’ll be honest and say that I still struggle to keep this in balance. Its very easy to entertain them with a cartoon or their favorite toy while we do “real ministry”, but they are real ministry!!
One practice that I’m working on improving in my own prayer life is praying scripture. The Word of God has great power; but somehow I think that if we would choose to pair prayer up with scripture and actually pray scripture in situations and circumstances of our lives that it would be like a shot of nitro to our prayers!
Praying the Word of God is an exciting and effective way to pray!
As I have prepared for these prayer challenges I have found exciting scriptures to target specific areas of our Christian walk.
In this 30 Day Prayer Challenge for Mothers you will find a Bible verse or passage for each day that will encourage you as a mother to raise your children in the ways of the Lord and strengthen you for this very important role.
To use this workbook, you will read the given verse or passage from the day and write out an observation about that verse or passage.
Then you will write out a prayer to the Lord, using the verse or passage for that day as a guide.
Using God’s Word as a guide for our prayers is such a powerful tool.
It is also a powerful weapon, combining the sword of the Spirit and the weapon of prayer into one atomic weapon against the enemy who seeks to destroy us.
