Worship and prayer are so intricately intertwined that they are essentially one.
Jesus opened up the prayer He taught His disciples with worship when He paying, “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.”
Worship should always play a central role in our prayer life.
The etymology of the word worship is “weorþscipe” or “weorthscipe” – pronounced worth-ship. Giving someone or something worth and value by your actions.
By this then we can determine that worship isn’t just limited to music and singing, though they play a large role in worship, as we see in the Bible.
Genuine worship of God first comes from a pure heart and then infuses into every action and attitude until our entire life is an act of worship.
The Word of God has great power; but somehow I think that if we would choose to pair prayer up with scripture and actually pray scripture in situations and circumstances of our lives that it would be like a shot of nitro to our prayers!
Praying the Word of God is an exciting and effective way to pray!
In these 5 Day Quiet Time Journals for Worship, you will find a Bible verse or passage for each day that will teach you about worship and challenge you to deepen your daily worship to God.
To use this workbook:
- You will read the given verse or passage from the day and write it out in the space below.
2. Then you will write out how that verse or passage applies to your life
3. Then you will write out a prayer to the Lord, using the verse or passage for that day as a guide.

Using God’s Word as a guide for our prayers is such a powerful tool.
It is also a powerful weapon, combining the sword of the Spirit and the weapon of prayer into one atomic weapon against the enemy who seeks to destroy us.
