Have you ever tried to make New Years goals instead of resolutions?
Maybe you’re like me, and you’re done making New Year’s resolutions, because you have discovered that you break them faster than you make them.
Maybe you’d like to focus more on personal growth than on perfection.

Years ago, I was tired of the same old-same old resolutions I made year after year:
- Read the Bible every day, without fail
- Pray 1 hour every day
- Lose weight
- Exercise
- Stick to my diet
I didn’t even need to write them down. They never changed. It was the same list for years on end.
Finally, after over a decade of the same New Years Resolutions, the quote came to mind, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, expecting different results.”
So, that must mean wisdom is trying a different approach to gain different results. Right?
What if instead of aiming for perfection, we aimed for a goal? That way, if by December 31, I was closer to my goal than I was on January 1, I could celebrate my progress.
That is when I created the New Years Goals Worksheet.

I chose to limit myself to 3 goals to keep them manageable. I don’t have to do everything this year.
I start by listing my top 3 goals for the year, and then I list actionable steps for each goal, and where I’d like to see myself at the end of the year.
It’s okay if I don’t see myself at the finish line.
The finish line isn’t what it’s all about. It’s about progress, not winning.
If this is a worksheet you’d like to use this year, I encourage you to go ahead and grab it. It is completely free.
