Have you ever had a panic attack?
- Felt the room closing in.
- Your heart pounding wildly.
- Your throat tightening, like you can’t breathe.
You couldn’t focus on anything but the source of your panic.
A fear so intense it overwhelms everything.
And afterward?
You’re completely drained for days.
And half the time, you later realize the thing that triggered it was blown out of proportion…
But in the moment, you were powerless.
I’ve been there many times. It’s a horrible place to be.
I’ve walked this battle for years.
One of the ways I’ve begun to overcome anxiety is by meditating on Scripture.
All throughout the Bible, we read that we don’t need to fear, why we don’t need to fear, and how we can overcome fear.
God must have known that mankind would struggle with fear, because He sure had a lot to say about it.
And this is precisely why we have a war room. A place where we intentionally fight back… with truth.
Below, you’ll find 10 Bible verses that will help you fight anxiety and renew your mind with truth.
Plus, I’ve created a free printable you can keep nearby as a daily reminder of the power we have in Christ.
This printable will help you:
✔ Refocus your mind on God’s truth
✔ Replace old thought patterns with Scripture
✔ Find peace in the middle of overwhelming moments

10 Bible Verses to Fight Anxiety
The enemy is at war for your mind. He takes one ‘what if,’ builds a story around it, and replays it until it feels real.
He takes one ‘what if,’ builds a whole story around it, and replays it until it feels real.
If we don’t fight for our minds, we’ll be consumed by anxiety, fear, and destructive thoughts that lead us down dark paths.
It’s amazing the scenarios he’s played in my mind!
They have been very convincing. Funny thing, though – they never actually materialized. Ever.
If we don’t fight back, we’ll be consumed by:
- Worry
- Anxiety
- Fear
- Depression
- Isolation
And horrible, destructive thoughts that will lead us down some very dark paths.
Below, I will give you my favorite Power Verses for anxiety, a free printable you can download and use in your war room.

“Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all.”
3. Philippians 4:6-7 (This is the one I come back to the most…)

“And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.”
9. John 14:27
“Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.”
10. Zephaniah 3:17
“The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
If you want to go deeper, these passages are powerful:
Psalm 34 – This is a Psalm David wrote when he pretended he was insane in an attempt to escape Abimelech.
Matthew 6:25-34 – This familiar passage by Jesus, preached as part of the Sermon on the Mount, commands us not to worry, and reminds us of how precious we are to God.
Isaiah 26 – This passage is labeled as “The Song of Salvation”, and is so encouraging in times of trouble!
Psalm 23 – This passage is very well-known, even by unbelievers, as a Psalm of great comfort.
Mark 4:35-40 – This is the story of Jesus calming the storm, such a great reminder to us that He can calm our storms as well!
Psalm 91 – Another well-known Psalm of David about the importance of dwelling in Christ and in His shelter.
