I don’t think most women know how much God loves them.
If you knew – if you could truly comprehend how much God loves you, the way you think, walk, act, and talk would be completely transformed.
You would approach life’s challenges differently.
You would pray differently.
Your relationships would be transformed.
Nothing about you would be the same if only you could fully comprehend how much God loves you.

In Psalm 139:5, David says, “You have hedged me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.”
Paul went even further with this in Ephesians 3:17-19:
“… that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.”
Do you see that?
His love goes before us.
His love goes behind us.
His hand of blessing is upon us.
His love is 4-dimensional.
- It has unlimited width
- It has unlimited length
- It has unlimited depth
- It has unlimited height
God’s love for you is like a cocoon that always surrounds you, no matter where you go, what you do, how far you run, or how deep you descend into your sin, depression, or sorrow.
You Don’t Know How Much God Loves You
We are completely surrounded on all sides by God’s love wherever we go and whatever we do.
Whether we are walking or lying down to sleep, God’s love is so high, we cannot rise above it.
God’s love is so deep, we cannot ever sink deeper than it.
God’s love is so wide and long that we cannot outrun it.
So now, you may be asking, “If God loves me so much, why did He allow this bad thing to happen to me?”
Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?
God’s Word doesn’t promise that His love will protect us from bad things.
That may not sound very loving at first, but trust in God’s love for us requires us to believe the promises of His Word that the hard things we experienced were allowed in our lives for a purpose.
If we are eternally surrounded by God’s love on every side, then He must have ordained this hardship for His glory.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” Romans 8:28
God loves you, and His love for you will lead you through difficulty to strengthen you and build your faith.
Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.
Isaiah 43:1-2
God didn’t promise that He would take you around the waters or rivers. He didn’t promise a detour around the fire. He said, “When you pass through them.”
When did God stop Abraham from sacrificing Isaac? When Isaac was on the altar.
When did God deliver Joseph? When he had been in prison.
When did God deliver the children of Israel from Egypt? After they’d been in slavery.
When did God deliver the three Hebrew children? When they were in the fiery furnace.
God’s love for you is filled with purpose
God loves you, and He knows that as you walk through the waters, the rivers, and the fire, your faith will be strengthened.
Hardships condition us. They weather us. They build in us the endurance we need to maintain faith in hard times.
Remember the Apostle Paul, who went through unbelievable hardship and was able to write to the Philippian church:
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
You see, God’s perfect love for you wants to fill you with so much peace that it blows your mind, and that peace will be a hedge of protection around your heart and your mind.
Peace from the inside out.
Peace that does not depend on right circumstances, but peace despite difficult circumstances.
God loves you with a perfect love. “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” 1 John 4:18
The word “perfect” in the Greek is τέλειος or teleios, and it means completed, finished, matured.
This isn’t something you do; it is something God does in you through Jesus Christ.
He wants to complete, finish, and mature His love in you so that you no longer live in fear, torment, worry, and anxiety – but that you are fully and completely assured of His love that eternally surrounds you.
Do you know God loves you? Really, truly loves you?
