One questions that has plagued every generation is “Where do I go after I die?”

It is written on every human being’s heart that this life cannot possibly be all there is. There must be something for us after death.

We are not just a blob of mass on our way to the fertilizer pile.

There has to be another life beyond this life.

It has been said that children are blank slates on which society writes, but this is not so. This belief is deeply humanistic in nature and not at all in agreement with Scripture.

Scripture teaches us that God’s law is written on our hearts. Romans 2:15

And therefore, we are born with an innate sense of wrong and right; with a longing to worship, and with a sense of an afterlife.

It is only persistence in sin that builds a callous over that law written on our hearts that leads us to call good evil and evil good.

That callous is what causes us deny a reality of an afterlife.

Jesus confirmed the reality of heaven and a resurrection from the dead in a number of places, and the apostles wrote about it in their letters to the churches.

The truth about the resurrection of our bodies not only gives us hope and comfort in the loss of our saved loved ones, but it also offers us accountability.

One day, at the resurrection, our works will be tested, to see what they are made of.

This life isn’t all there is, in fact, this life isn’t a worthy investment.

Jesus said that the only worthy investment is the investment in eternity. In souls. In spreading the kingdom of God here on earth.

I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

2. Luke 14:13-14

But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind. And you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you; for you shall be repaid at the resurrection of the just.

3. Romans 6:5

For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection

4. Philippians 3:10

…that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death

5. Revelation 20:6

Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.
