Do you often struggle with allowing social media or other apps on your device to distract you from the important things you need to be doing?
Do you wish there was some way you could learn to control how much you use your phone?
I have created this set of Bible verses for Redeeming the Time Bookmark because I had that same problem.
It can still be a struggle for me at times.

It wasn’t all that long ago when I realized that every time I felt pressured, overwhelmed, or just bogged down with a long to-do list, I would avoid those things by doom scrolling on my phone.
In fact, I wasn’t even really reading or looking at anything.
I would sit in my favorite easy chair and just scroll—waiting for something to catch my attention. I would refresh the app, hoping to see that red notification dot that would cause that bit of excitement.
I had told myself, “Just 5 minutes,” but an hour later, I would glance at the clock, and panic would hit me.
How had an hour gone by already?!
I had just wasted a whole hour that I didn’t have time to waste, and what did I have to show for it? Nothing. I had done nothing.
This moment began my journey to taking control of my digital usage and learning to redeem the time in my life.
Over the next several months, I shut down my blog’s fan pages and closed my Instagram and TikTok accounts.
Before I would post to Facebook, I would ask myself, “Is it really necessary that the whole world know this?” and 9 times out of 10, it wasn’t.
I began to ask my kids’ permission to post pictures of them, and more often than not, they didn’t want me to.
It wasn’t long before I realized that weeks had gone by and I hadn’t posted anything to my Facebook profile.
It felt good to have my private life private again!
But the best thing that happened to me was how much more connected I felt to the Lord’s presence and how much more clearly I could hear His voice without the distraction of my phone.
I would leave my phone on my desk while I had my devotions and not even think about checking my notifications.
My heart began to grow quieter, and my thoughts were clearer.

10 Bible Verses for Redeeming the Time Bookmark
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
3. Psalm 119:15
I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.
Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
5. Psalm 90:12
So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.
6. James 4:14
Whereas you do not know what will happen tomorrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor that appears for a little time and then vanishes away.
7. Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
8. Isaiah 40:31
But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
9. Psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!
10. Colossians 3:2
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
