Why does the Word of God say that you need to be renewing your mind with the Word of God?
My husband and I were talking the other day about how important it is to seek God’s wisdom for our lives, rather than making decisions based on logic.
I have heard many Christians mock the idea of seeking God for every little detail and decision.
However, the Bible tells us that God’s ways are not our ways and his thoughts are not our thoughts—putting the Christian life at odds with logic-based decisions.

Have you ever noticed that many godly men and women in history made completely illogical decisions?
Even in Scripture, we see that godly men and women made choices that went completely against the grain of our natural reasoning, and they were greatly rewarded.
Proverbs tells us not to lean on our own understanding, because our own understanding is faulty, flawed, and broken.
You should spend time daily renewing your mind because it needs to be regenerated and renovated, and there is only one way this happens.
We must meditate on God’s Word.
10 Bible Verses for Renewing Your Mind
I have been walking with the Lord for over 40 years, and I have found that every spiritual stronghold you face can be overcome by renewing your mind.
The Word of God is powerful and the most underused weapon we have to fight against the enemy’s strategy to keep us living in defeat.
As my dad has often said, “Adversity in the life of a believer is normal Christian living. Defeat is abnormal.”
It is abnormal for us to live beneath God’s blessings and continual victory.
Over the past 6-7 years, I have seen the most spiritual growth in my personal life by primarily utilizing the weapon of the Word of God that has always been in my hand, by renewing my mind so that my way of thinking aligns with what God’s Word says.
Are you ready?
Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
2. Romans 12:2
Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life
Commit your works to the Lord, and your thoughts will be established.
For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
7. 1 Peter 1:13
Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts and be renewed in the spirit of your mind.
9. Isaiah 55:8
“For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord.
10. Romans 8:6
For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
