With Easter just around the corner, my thoughts are often on my friends and family who have yet to receive Christ.
In my prayer journal I have listed them all by name and pray for them each day.
I’ll be honest, it seems that it is practically impossible to believe that some of them will receive Christ as their Savior.
They are less than disinterested and some have let it be known that they don’t want to hear anything about my “religion”.
We can know that when we pray for a person’s salvation, we pray according to God’s will.
His Word says “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”
“Any” and “all” mean any and all.
It’s as simple as that.
In 1991, I was privileged to volunteer at a Billy Graham crusade.
During their training classes, they would hand out “Operation Andrew” cards. These were cards on which were 5 lines to write down the names of 5 people that you would commit to pray for and eventually invite to the crusade.
I have always remembered that practice, and have continued it in my private life to this day.
They encouraged us not to avoid names of people that you feel are not likely to get saved. Imagine how much glory God would receive if that person got saved!
You know whom I’m talking about! We all have that person in our life.
Based on that, I decided to make a printable Salvation Prayer card.
On this card, write these names down on both sides of the paper, and then cut along the dotted line. Put one list in your Bible and the other list next to your bed.
This way, you’ll remember to pray for these 5 people twice each day!
