Have you ever stopped to wonder why it is that we spend the entire month of December celebrating Christmas, but only “Holy Week” celebrating Easter?

Some people celebrate Christmas for two or three months.

But without Easter, Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas.

Without Jesus’ resurrection, we wouldn’t have eternal life, and Christmas wouldn’t have the meaning it does. 

Last year I wrote the post: 5 Reasons Why I Don’t Observe Lent, and reposted it it his year.

This post has raised a lot of discussion as to alternatives to Lent, and why it is important that we make Christ’s victory our focus and not our own sin.

And this led me to sit down and create a 15-day reading plan for Easter.

In this reading plan, you will be reading through the final days of Jesus’ life on earth. Studying the accounts we find in Luke, plus passages from the Old Testament foretelling those events this reading plan includes:

• Jesus’ triumphal entry
• The religious ruler’s plot to kill Jesus
• The Last Supper
• Jesus’ prayer in the garden
• The betrayal of Jesus
• The trial
• Jesus’ death and burial
• Jesus’ resurrection
•  Jesus’ ascension into heaven
