My first contact with my dear friend Mary was in 2014, when our mutual friend and fellow missionary Trisha put us in touch with one another regarding Good Morning Girls.
She and her husband were serving in Novi Sad, Serbia, and she began an in-person Good Morning Girls group with a group of Roma women she was leading.
That group soon expanded to a Facebook group, and by 2017, she and I teamed up to start an international group in English for women on Facebook.
Over the past 11 years, Mary and I not only chatted about the various studies we led together, but we connected on a personal level as fellow missionaries in neighboring countries.
We chatted about homeschooling, as she had homeschooled her children, and she gave me so much encouragement and wisdom.
We shared a love for cardmaking – and I will treasure the cards she sent me for my birthday.
I have had the honor of partnering with her in prayer over the past 16 months as she walked through the cancer journey that took her home to be with Jesus on February 4, 2026.
I will always remember Mary as an inspiration and example to me of faithful and unwavering service to those we are called to pour our lives out for.
I never had the honor of meeting her in this life, but I sure can’t wait to finally meet her on that day when we will rejoice together around God’s throne.
Mary, thank you for your friendship and for allowing me to partner with you in discipling and encouraging our Good Morning Girls.
See you at the house, dear friend!
