I’ll never forget the night I sat in my favorite chair with my laptop and watched the movie War Room.
As usual, I was late to the party. Most of my friends had watched the movie already and I felt like anything I said about it by that point would be “old news”.
But it had such an impact on me and how I viewed my quiet time that I just couldn’t keep it to myself.

The next morning I got up and wandered around the house looking for even a corner of a room I could turn into my war room. Living in a 750 square-foot home didn’t really give us much space, and we don’t have closets. We have wardrobes.
It didn’t take long to come up empty on making a room or a wall into my war room.
Now, I suppose I could have just given up….chalked it up to another failed attempt at making my prayer life more significant and effective.
But I decided to create a war room alternative.

That post was the launching pad for something very special here at A Little R & R….and for me as a blogger.
Suddenly, my mind was churning with ideas for what I could write about
- Prayer
- Bible Study
- Quiet Times
And the more I wrote about these topics, the more ideas came to mind.
Then early one morning I woke up after having dreamed that I was writing a blog post. Amazingly, I remembered what I’d written and rushed out to my living room to publish it.

I have a prayer notebook…I keep a prayer schedule, prayer cards, lists of people to pray for, answered prayers and spiritual breakthroughs recorded there. It is a portable closet, and convenient to pack along with me where ever I go.
